Two ways to do it:
1st way, one size of bead:
1. String three beads into a circle, go through them again, and one bead extra so the end comes out one bead after the tail.
2. String two more beads and go through the bead that you came out of, from the first step. Go through the three beads again, and one bead more, so it comes out at the correct place to do next triangle.
3. Do step 2 again, when coming out of each triangle make sure that the thread comes out at the correct place to do next triangle.
4. Keep going, if making a circle, it is normally 6 sections, not 5.
5. Last section of the circle, just string one bead, and go through the side bead from the first section that was made. May need to strengthen it by going through all the sections again.
2nd way, two types of beads, corner and side beads:
1. String 3 of each bead into a circle, alternate the two types of beads. Go through them again and come out from the side bead.
2. String 5 beads, corner, side, corner, side, corner. Go through same bead from the last triangle that you came out of. Go through all the beads again, keep going through the beads until the thread comes out at the correct side bead to do the next triangle.
2. Keep making triangles , remember that a circle is 6 sections, not 5.
3. Strengthen it by going through the corner beads in the middle to strengthen the structure. And may also need to thread through the outside beads.

Plaited Ring Belt
Instructions on my beaded plaited medieval ring belt.

This was made as a medieval style belt.
3 x 140 inch 6lb fireline
32 mm ring
3 x 6mm jumprings
5mm jumprings, about 20
6/0 matsuma seed beads black and gunmetal total about 9 x 12.5g tubes (1.5 per strand)
18 x 6/0 silver plated beads
3 x 10mm paua shell coin beads
3 x spirals
3 x eyepins
String fireline through 5 mm jumpring
string 2 silver beads then a 5mm jumpring then 1 more silver bead onto both ends of the fireline at once, push hard up to the jumpring at the middle of the fireline, makes one double strand for the plait.
Do this 2 more times, once for each double strand
Use 5mm jumprings to link the jumprings together.

String the black and gunmetal on the ends of the fireline, takes about 1.5 tubes per strand.
String up to approximately 60 inches long, finish off the other end of the strands in the same way that you started it, 1 silver bead, 1 5mm jumpring, then 2 silver beads.
Plait the belt, you will need a lot of room, best to do it on the floor, when plaiting, fold the double strands for each pass.
link the jumprings together in same way as other end, and tie the fireline off over the end jumpring, then string the ends back through the beads to hold it
Attach the 32mm ring to one end using 6mm jumprings, attach to the two outside rings and the middle ring.
Put the paua shell coins onto the eyepins, attach the spirals to the eye of the eyepin, loop the other end of the eyepin and attach to the two outside and the middle jumprings.
Tie the belt using a half winsor knot, a couple of the medieval belt sites have instructions.

Paua and bead choker
Instructions how I made the choker and anything that I learnt from it.
11/0 black delica
11/0 gunmetal delica total about 2 x 7.2g tubes
11/0 durocoat silver (silver plated beads)
paua pendant
nemo thread black
clasp - do not use magnetic clasp as it keeps on coming off
peyote strap 14 beads wide, starting from each clasp joining at the front of the neck.
peyote down from middle of strap 14 beads down, as the first/second column, end up with alternating 3 and 4 beads per row
Use silver beads for the loop for the pendant, make sure that it has an even number of beads, and attach pendant *before* threading it back up through the delicas.
peyote one extra row on each side with silver beads, and loop a few more times through the pendant loop beads to secure it.
Then finish off.
